This holiday pairs Baku's city sights with the cool mountain air of Shahdag in the Greater Caucasus. After arriving you take a panoramic tour of old and new Baku – the walled Icherisheher, Maiden Tower, Flame Towers and the seafront.

The next day covers Ateshgah Fire Temple, Yanar Dag (a hillside that burns constantly with natural gas) and the flowing architecture of the Heydar Aliyev Center. Then comes Gobustan's ancient rock art and mud volcanoes. Finally you head north to Shahdag for two nights – cable cars, mountain walks, and skiing in winter – before returning to Baku for your flight.

02Day 2: Day 2: Old and New Baku

Panoramic tour of Icherisheher, Maiden Tower, Flame Towers and Highland Park. Overnight in Baku.

03Day 3: Day 3: Ateshgah, Yanar Dag and Heydar Aliyev Center

Visit the fire temple, burning mountain and the Heydar Aliyev Center. Overnight in Baku.

04Day 4: Day 4: Gobustan and Mud Volcanoes

Day at Gobustan's rock art and mud volcanoes. Overnight in Baku.

05Day 5: Day 5: Baku to Shahdag

Drive north to Shahdag in the Caucasus. Overnight in Shahdag.

06Day 6: Day 6: Shahdag at Leisure

Cable cars, mountain walks or skiing (seasonal). Overnight in Shahdag.

07Day 7: Day 7: Departure from Baku

Drive back to Baku airport.
