Welcome the festive season in the Garhwal Himalayas. In winter Chopta is often covered in snow, turning the trek to Tungnath and Chandrashila into a true snow adventure.

You leave Delhi by Tempo Traveller at night and arrive in Chopta to settle in and acclimatise, with a warm bonfire evening at camp. The next day you trek through snowy forests to Tungnath temple and up to Chandrashila summit for spectacular views of Nanda Devi, Trishul and Chaukhamba. On the final day you visit Deoria Tal before driving back to Delhi.

Your day-by-day itinerary

01Day 1: Day 1: Depart Delhi at Night

Meet the group in Delhi around 8 PM and drive overnight to Chopta.

02Day 2: Day 2: Arrive in Chopta – Bonfire Evening

Reach Chopta, check in and rest. Short snow walk and bonfire evening. Overnight in Chopta.

03Day 3: Day 3: Tungnath and Chandrashila Snow Trek

Trek through snowy forests to Tungnath and Chandrashila summit. Return to camp. Overnight in Chopta.

04Day 4: Day 4: Deoria Tal – Drive to Delhi

Short hike to Deoria Tal, then begin the drive back to Delhi.

05Day 5: Day 5: Arrive in Delhi

Reach Delhi in the early morning.
