Kashmir in winter turns into a white wonderland, and this expedition is planned to make the most of it. The trip opens with Srinagar's sights and a night on a Dal Lake houseboat before heading to Gulmarg, where the Gondola climbs into deep snow and ski slopes.
On the way to Pahalgam you stop at Drung, where the waterfall often freezes solid in peak winter. Pahalgam brings the Aru and Betaab valleys and Chandanwari under a blanket of snow. Before flying home you take a guided snow trek from Nilnag Lake to Yusmarg, or to the meadows of Doodhpathri, depending on conditions.

Your day-by-day itinerary
01Day 1: Day 1: Arrive in Srinagar – City Sightseeing
Arrive at Srinagar airport and transfer to your houseboat. After some rest, visit the Shankaracharya temple viewpoint and Mughal gardens, followed by a shikara ride on Dal Lake. Overnight on the houseboat.
02Day 2: Day 2: Srinagar to Gulmarg – Gondola Ride
Drive to Gulmarg, often covered in thick snow at this time of year. Take the Gulmarg Gondola up to the snowfields and enjoy sledging or skiing (at your own cost). Overnight in Gulmarg.
03Day 3: Day 3: Gulmarg to Pahalgam via Drung Waterfall
Start with a visit to Drung, where the waterfall freezes in peak winter. Then drive to Pahalgam through the Kashmir valley and check in by evening. Overnight in Pahalgam.
04Day 4: Day 4: Pahalgam Valleys and Back to Srinagar
Visit the snow-covered Aru Valley, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari by local cab. In the afternoon drive back to Srinagar and enjoy a quiet evening. Overnight in Srinagar.
05Day 5: Day 5: Snow Trek – Nilnag Lake to Yusmarg or Doodhpathri
With a local guide, trek from Nilnag Lake towards Yusmarg, or explore the meadows of Doodhpathri if routes are snowbound. Enjoy pine forests, frozen streams and wide snow views. Return to Srinagar. Overnight in Srinagar.
06Day 6: Day 6: Departure from Srinagar
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Srinagar airport for your onward journey.
