This expedition is built around Ladakh's spectacular high-altitude lakes. After an overnight bus to Manali and a free day there, you cross the Atal Tunnel past Deepak Tal and Suraj Tal to camp at Sarchu.
The route then crosses the More Plains to Tso Kar and the Puga Valley, reaching the turquoise Tso Moriri. An offbeat road over Kaksang La passes Kyagar Tso and Yaya Tso on the way to Pangong. From Pangong you go to Nubra, then over Khardung La into Leh. The return heads west via Namika La and Fotu La to Kargil, and over Zoji La past Drass and Sonamarg to Srinagar, from where you fly home.

Arrive in Manali and explore on your own. Overnight in Manali.
03Day 3: Day 3: Manali to Sarchu via Deepak and Suraj Tal
Cross the Atal Tunnel and Baralacha La, passing the lakes, to Sarchu. Overnight in camp.
04Day 4: Day 4: Sarchu to Tso Moriri via Tso Kar
Cross the More Plains, visit Tso Kar and Puga Valley, and reach Tso Moriri. Overnight at Tso Moriri.
05Day 5: Day 5: Tso Moriri to Pangong via Yaya Tso
Offbeat route over Kaksang La past Kyagar Tso and Yaya Tso to Pangong. Overnight at Pangong.
06Day 6: Day 6: Pangong to Nubra via Shyok
Follow the Shyok river to Nubra Valley. Overnight in Nubra.
07Day 7: Day 7: Nubra to Leh via Khardung La
Cross Khardung La into Leh. Overnight in Leh.
08Day 8: Day 8: Leh to Kargil via Namika La and Fotu La
Ride west past Lamayuru to Kargil. Overnight in Kargil.
09Day 9: Day 9: Kargil to Srinagar via Zoji La
Pass Drass, Zoji La and Sonamarg to Srinagar. Overnight in Srinagar.
10Day 10: Day 10: Fly Back Home
