Join a like-minded group for a week in Kinnaur and Spiti, two of Himachal's most dramatic valleys. You take an overnight Volvo from Delhi to Shimla, where a Tempo Traveller picks you up for the winding drive to Sangla valley and Chitkul, India's last inhabited village on the old Hindustan–Tibet road.
After Kalpa's apple orchards and snow-peak views, the road climbs past the green waters of Nako lake to Tabo. In Spiti you visit Dhankar's cliff monastery, the famous Key gompa, the high Chicham bridge and the fossil village of Langza, and post a card from Hikkim. The group returns via Kalpa and Shimla to Delhi.

01Day 1: Day 1: Overnight Volvo to Shimla
Leave Delhi in the evening by Volvo.
02Day 2: Day 2: Shimla to Chitkul
Reach Shimla and drive along the Sutlej and Baspa to Chitkul/Sangla. Overnight in Chitkul.
03Day 3: Day 3: Chitkul to Kalpa
Wander Chitkul, then drive to Kalpa for evening views. Overnight in Kalpa.
04Day 4: Day 4: Kalpa to Tabo via Nako
Pass Khab and Nako lake to reach Tabo. Overnight in Tabo.
05Day 5: Day 5: Dhankar, Key and Chicham
Visit Dhankar, Key Monastery and Chicham bridge. Overnight in Kaza.
06Day 6: Day 6: Langza, Komic and Hikkim
Explore the high villages around Kaza. Overnight in Kaza.
07Day 7: Day 7: Kaza to Kalpa
Drive back to Kalpa. Overnight in Kalpa.
