Spiti is a cold mountain desert of old monasteries, tiny villages and wide open skies. This 7-day journey starts and ends in Manali and is paced so you have time to take it all in.

From Manali you cross the Atal Tunnel and follow the Chandra river over Kunzum Pass to Kaza, the main town of the valley. Two full days around Kaza take you to Key Monastery, Kibber, Chicham bridge, and the villages of Langza, Hikkim and Komic, home to some of the highest post offices and settlements in the world. On the way back you camp out a day for Chandratal, the crescent-shaped 'moon lake', before returning to Manali.
