Bangkok and Pattaya Itinerary: 5 Days of Temples, Islands and Shopping

A 5-day Bangkok and Pattaya itinerary for Indians – Coral Island, Alcazar show, Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Safari World, shopping, food, costs and tips.

Travel Guides

Bangkok and Pattaya together make a perfect first international holiday: short flights, varied sightseeing and great shopping.

Why Pattaya First?

Pattaya is about 2 hours from Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport. Going there first means you end your trip in Bangkok, close to the airport and the shopping malls.

5-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive → Pattaya

Private or shared transfer to Pattaya. Evening on Walking Street or at Terminal 21 Pattaya.

Day 2: Coral Island (Koh Larn)

Speedboat to Coral Island for beaches, parasailing, sea walk and banana boats. Evening Alcazar or Tiffany's cabaret show.

Day 3: Pattaya → Bangkok

Morning at Nong Nooch Tropical Garden or the Sanctuary of Truth. Drive to Bangkok; evening at Asiatique riverfront or a Chao Phraya dinner cruise.

Day 4: Bangkok Sightseeing

Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho (reclining Buddha) and Wat Arun. Dress modestly – shoulders and knees covered. Evening shopping at Pratunam, Platinum Mall or MBK.

Day 5: Safari World or Shopping, Departure

Safari World and Marine Park is a family favourite. Or spend the day at Chatuchak Weekend Market (Sat–Sun) before your flight.

Costs (couple, mid-range, excluding flights)

  • Hotels (4 nights): ₹20,000–₹35,000
  • Transfers and tours (Coral Island, show, city tour, Safari World): ₹15,000–₹25,000
  • Food and shopping: as you like!
  • Typical package: ₹45,000–₹70,000

Tips for Indian Travellers

  • Indian restaurants are plentiful in both cities; vegetarian food is easy to find.
  • Carry Thai Baht for street vendors; cards work in malls.
  • Use metered taxis or Grab; agree tuk-tuk fares first.
  • Thailand currently offers 30-day visa-free entry for Indians from September 2026, with an online arrival card – details in our Thailand trip guide.
