Darjeeling, the Queen of the Hills, is famous for its tea, toy train and Himalayan views. After the drive up from Bagdogra or NJP you spend the evening on the Mall and Chowrasta.
A full day of sightseeing starts at Tiger Hill for sunrise over Kanchenjunga, followed by Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the zoo and a tea garden. The next day is an excursion to Mirik, a peaceful lake town surrounded by pine forests and tea estates, with boating and the Bokar Monastery.
