Pelling, a small town in West Sikkim at around 2,100 metres, is famous for some of the closest and most dramatic views of Kanchenjunga, the world's third-highest mountain. Monasteries, sacred lakes, waterfalls and the ruins of Sikkim's old capital make it a rewarding stop on any Sikkim tour.
